Skomakerstuen café

Skomakerstuen is a café located next to Lake Skomakerdiket.

Experience the tranquility of the forest at the idyllic Skomakerdiket. Only a ten-minute walk from Fløibanens top station, you will find Skomakerstuen – a natural meeting place and heating room on Mount Fløyen.

Open every Saturday – Sunday and during holidays from 11 AM – 4 PM.

In harmony with the landscape’s contours and using natural materials, Skomakerstuen blends seamlessly into its surroundings. Opened in 2020, this building is a result of a national architectural competition won by the firm SAAHA AS.

Inside, there are 30 seats, in addition to seating place outside where hikers can seek shelter. You can enjoy hot and cold drinks such as soda, water, hot chocolate, tea and coffee, along with light snacks and freshly baked Norwegian pancakes “svele” with sour cream, jam, norwegian brown cheese or sugar. Skomakerstuen also features restrooms, including HC-toilet and changing table.

Skomakerstuen is the perfect destination for a walk in the mountain, and our aim is for Skomakerstuen to become a natural gathering place where the entire city's population and visitors can meet.

In the summer we also offer free canoeing on the lake .
