Important information when you are hiking

Here are some rules and regulations for hiking in Norway.

The signs in the mountains around Bergen mark the direction for the main paths that are marked on the most common hiking maps. Weather conditions like wind, ice, snow and vandalism may cause the signs to turn or be otherwise damaged. This is why it is important to be cautious during bad weather. The weather can change quickly to fog in the mountains. Bring a map and compass just in case.

Public right of access in Norway allows you to roam freely in nature and reap the fruits thereof. But it also demands that you take care of the nature to the pleasure and benefit for everyone and our descendants.

Certain things are not allowed during specific seasons around Mount Fløyen, like to light a fire, setting a tent etc. Contact us if you are unsure whether something you want to do is allowed.
